Remote meter reading means reading - through an electronic device - the consumption of gas or water recorded by a meter and send the data over the air (GSM, GPRS) to a remote central (SERVER) which stores and processes it.

These systems allow to eliminate manual reading by human personnel, allowing an extremely efficient managing and optimizing it. A typical remote meter reading implant is composed by:


  Remote reading devices installed on the meters, which do the reading and sent it, through GSM or GPRS systems, to the central server.

  The server which hostes a dedicated software that works out the recieved data and stores them on DB.

  A managing software which allows the monitoring of the water or gas consumption of each firm; moreover it gives useful informations about the reading device's running.
